We thought it would be fun to show some impressive numbers about the typical day on Skype. The vibrancy of Skype – we attribute to all of you, who find that Skype is wonderful, useful, and universal in everyday life. The figure that is most impressive is 700 million minutes of free Skype-to-Skype calls each day. To put it in perspective, 700 million is the equivalent of going around the earth 28,000 times in one day, if each minute represents a mile. Or 17,400 times if each minute is a kilometer. And, if you are in any doubt of how popular video calling is becoming, then check it out -42% of Skype-to-Skype calls include video. That’s the equivalent of 300 million minutes each day.
