A total of 152 workers were killed at work during 2009/10. There were 104,845 injuries recorded in England during this period, 15 times more than Wales, which recorded 6,572 injuries. 1.3 million people that worked in 2009/10 were suffering from an illness which they believed was caused or made worse by their current or past employer. In 2009/2010, the average person took 1.2 sick days per year and a total of 5.1 million day were lost due to injury in the work place.
