Since this is just the beginning of the tablet and smartphone explosion, it may not be too long before the trends change. It does seem absurd to prevent young kids and teens from taking advantage of the latest technological advancements available today. Sure there are worries that young minds may be influenced by what’s available on the internet, or that they may be distracted or lose their childhood. But the best way forward is to spend quality time with them, communicate, and teach good values. There are dangers everywhere, even lurking on Facebook! and holding back a smartphone or tablet from kids/teens seems absurd.
